D-Limonene

What is D-Limonene? Limonene is a colorless monoterpene found in the rinds of citrus fruits like oranges, lemons, and limes. The word Limonene originates from the word “Lemon,” due to the citrus fragrance it produces. D-Limonene is the D-isomer form of Limonene that occurs more commonly in nature and has the scent of citrus. This isomer provides CitruSolution a degreasing agent to the proprietary blend; since D-Limonene is less acidic than most of the stains in carpet, upholstery, and area rugs, it will serve as a “reversal” to most stains, releasing the stain from the fabric and carpet fibers.

Deep Cleaning

Carpet, upholstery, and area rugs should be deep cleaned every 6 to 12 months, depending on usage. If you have high traffic areas, we recommend professional cleaning every 6 months. This reduces the number of allergens and pathogens in the places you use the most.

Think about all the things that your shoes, pets, or kids bring into the house – not only on shoes (or paws), but also on clothes and other items. These particles, dirt, and bacteria find their way to places deep within carpet and upholstery. When you have someone professionally clean on a routine basis, these pathogens are reduced to a very small amount.

Sanitize

Not only does CitruSolution remove stains and other grime from carpets and upholstery, but it also reduces the growth of bacteria and dust mites. D-Limonene is used in many cleaning agents because it inhibits and deters growth of many common bacteria that cause illnesses such as the common cold and flu.

Antimicrobial

CitruSolution of North Cherokee can also use an antimicrobial on your carpet and area rugs to help kill present bacteria and pathogens that lie beneath the surface. If you have pets, ask us about an antimicrobial that can be added to our cleaning agent to add an extra layer of “deep clean” to carpets and area rugs. If you have a commercial space, we highly recommend using the antimicrobial as an add-on to make sure that your office space is clean and sanitized.
